Reduce Plastic Bag Use
When you remember to bring reusable shopping bags with you to the store, you can save thousands of single-use plastic bags from being used. It's an easy and effective way to conserve resources and reduce the number of plastic bags that end up as ugly and costly litter.
Tips to reduce your use of plastic bags:
Make a habit of storing reusable shopping bags in your car, backpack or handbag to keep them handy.
Use your own bags for groceries, fresh food and at department stores.
Say no to a plastic bag before the clerk places your items in one.
When you only have a few items, carry them out in your hands.
Reuse any plastic bags you have as many times as possible.
Recycle plastic bags at participating grocery stores (see below).
If you must discard a plastic bag, make sure it does not become litter.
